Her songs are utilized internationally in yoga\, hospice\, birth\, community song circles\, and healing work. \nAmanda West is a songcatcher/writer\, ritualist\, community leader\, mother\, and ever-evolving human. In a lifetime devoted to music and healing\, she has brought song to the thresholds of birth and death\, life rituals\, spiritual centers\, community gatherings\, album recordings\, festivals\, and performances throughout the West Coast and parts of Europe. She understands our world to be full of both collapse and possibility and is passionate about cultivating resilience and hope during this time of collective re-birthing on planet Earth. \nAnnie Anton is a singer-songwriter and ceremonialist supporting women in opening their voices and connecting to the magic of song \nBecky Reardon’s early career featured her singing in the Charlie Brown TV shows\, and performing in folk clubs in San Francisco. Since moving to New Mexico in the ’90’s she has been leading singing circles and creating songs and rounds that are widely sung by Threshold and other community choirs and song circles. \nBetsy Rose is a lifelong singer\, songwriter\, and community inspirer of song. For many years\, she has led women’s song circles and musical retreats and organized public pop-up musical rallies in response to the issues of the times. Betsy’s music draws on decades of Buddhist and other spiritual paths\, and her songs offer a real-world blend of the powerful and the prayerful\, honoring our earth home\, and all beings. \nCarole Marie is a songleader\, ukulele instructor\, and retreat facilitator committed to sparking joy and creating connection through music. She leads the Sing Portland Community Choir and Vocal Vibes Improvisation in Portland\, OR with a passion for supporting beginners to trust and nurture their innate musicality. \nDebbie Nargi-Brown is a gifted community song leader and a talented singer-songwriter. She writes songs for the heart\, healing\, transformation\, love\, grief\, and all that connects us as human beings. Bringing people together in dance and song is one of her greatest joys in life! \nDodie Whitaker (she/her)\, a dynamic performer\, composer\, educator\, and community activist\, brings a unique blend of infectious enthusiasm and expertise to her extensive body of work. Co-author of the influential document “Who is Community Singing For?” Dodie integrates her unique lived experiences with a lifelong legacy of fighting for freedom and racial\, social\, and LGBTQ+ justice\, to support and empower communities to create lasting systemic change. On a fierce mission to center the artistic legacies and contributions of women of the global majority\, Dodie’s music is a celebration of her rich biracial\, Jewish background and transcends all boundaries. \nHanna Leigh is a recording artist and voice mentor who has been leading community singing circles for nearly ten years. She is also the founder of an organization called Weaving Remembrance\, which helps people get in touch with their indigenous European roots. \n‘Heart Songs & Circle Songs‘ is the co-creation of Heather Pierson and Bernice Martin. Heather is a full-time music maker from New Hampshire. Bernice is a singer/songwriter\, licensed massage therapist\, and ordained community minister from Maine. Since 2018\, they have created and shared dozens of original songs and two songbooks into the wild\, inspired by the power of song to connect\, nourish\, and heal. \nHeather Houston is the Founder of the Sisters in Harmony Global movement. Heather is a beloved community choir director\, recording artist\, and women’s vocal empowerment coach who offers life-transforming singing events\, both online and in person. She is passionate about uplifting hearts\, freeing voices\, and building strong\, loving communities through the power of singing. Heather’s songs are sung by communities across the globe and weave themes of communion with the natural world\, personal and collective healing\, prayer\, unity \,and inspiration. \nJulianna Zarzycki is a teacher\, community grower\, artist and song carrier. She has been leading community singing on beloved Tongva land in Atwater Village\, Los Angeles and beyond since 2021. She is honored to hold sacred spaces for people to come together. \nKaitie Ty Warren (she/they) grew up in the world of theater\, but discovered community singing in 2010 and hasn’t looked back. She is the founder and co-leader of Living Room Choir (East Bay\, CA)\, a teacher for community singing at Berkeley Adult School\, and works retreats\, workshops\, and with private students. She also writes songs\, comic strips\, prose and poems\, and has developed vocal work for folks with Parkinson’s. \nKaren Drucker’s message is all about healing and love – whether singing one of her positive message songs or sharing stories that are funny\, inspiring\, and heart-opening. She is a keynote speaker\, women’s retreat facilitator\, and entertainer who has recorded 22 CDs of her inspirational music. \nKate Munger founded the Threshold Choir 25 years ago and knows deep in her heart the power of song to effect change. She says “to me\, singing can still be the most effective form of expressing hope and making change. I want to create an updated list of songs of protest\, fellowship\, love and tenacity.” \nKate Sutherland is a multi-creative who feels alive when leading community song circles\, (re)uniting folks with their creative passions\, making art out of the everyday\, moving her body\, belly laughing\, and standing in wonder of the natural world. She is a prolific recording artist\, song-prayer activist\, and warrior for love\, and holds black belts in Judo and Kung Fu. \nLaura Sera creates a deep loving community with her Voices of the Heart song circles\, empowering women to heal and be held. Her original songs restore our connection to ourselves\, to each other\, to nature\, and to love. She sings with Heather Houston in Santa Cruz and is a teacher in Heather’s Sisters in Harmony Song Leader Training program. \nLauren Arrow (she/her) is a queer Jewitch song-tender\, facilitator\, and ceremonialist in the Bay Area. After overcoming a debilitating fear around singing and sharing her voice\, her life’s mission has centered around holding trauma-informed singing circles for the past 13 years\, helping folks reclaim their voice and embrace their creativity. \nThe first time Lea Morris sang in public\, she was a three-year-old with her hair styled in two Afro puff balls. The hymn was Sweet Sweet Spirit. The First Baptist Church of Baltimore was the proving ground where this future troubadour learned the sanctity and power of music. \nLyndsey Scott is a multimedia artist\, song leader\, songwriter\, and ritualist committed to exploring community singing as a technology of belonging and a strategy for mutual liberation. She currently teaches “Community Singing as Collective Power” at the University of Iowa and priestesses ceremony in service of social change with EarthKeeper Wisdom School. Her beloved anthem “The Way Knows” invites us to flex our sacred trust muscles\, and her prayer for prison abolition “Over/Under” invites us to do this until we free ourselves. \nMelanie DeMore is a 3 time Grammy nominated singer/composer\, choral conductor\, music director\, and vocal activist who believes in the power of voices raised together. \nMila Redwood is a Community Song Leader\, Mother\, and the Founder of Sing for Joy in Toronto\, Canada. Mila uses song as a tool for building community\, for restoring our sense of belonging and connection in a fragmented world. She is passionate about gathering folks to sing together in the oral tradition\, in the simple yet powerful ways that our ancestors have done for time immemorial. \nNaomi Tessler is a Sacred Singer/Songwriter and Inspiring Song leader. Her music is a Dance of Vibrant Vocals\, Earthy Folk\, Jazz\, R’n’B\, and Kirtan with Soulful and Poetic Lyrics. Naomi’s practice of Expressive & Healing Arts Therapy and Ritual Facilitation is woven into her channeled songs and she guides with great love and compassion for all beings. \nPatricia Norton is the Founder of A Breath of Song podcast and a form of communal presence practice called “Flow Singing\,” Patricia also enjoys circle singing\, knitting\, hiking\, laughter and musings with friends and family. Learning to love her own voice has been a long\, twisty path\, and she loves witnessing as others step into that journey with their own voices. \nPenny Stone is a musician and activist\, hopemonger. \nRev. Deborah L. Johnson Author of The Sacred YES and Your Deepest Intent\, Rev Deborah Johnson\, MBA\, is founder of Inner Light Ministries and Unleashing Our Future. From Fortune 500 clients to community organizing\, her message is always one of inclusion\, empowerment\, and possibilities. \nSarah S. Bentley\, founder of Heart Body Song\, is a song catcher\, song carrier\, and community song leader\, based in Austin\, Texas where she leads women’s and inclusive singing experiences. She gracefully weaves the art of embodied singing\, mindful movement\, ritual\, and communal prayer into her circles. Sarah has a beautiful way of creating a space where everyone feels safe expressing their voices. \nSarah MacEwan (she/her)\, aka The Singing Therapist\, is on a mission to heal and be healed through creative self-expression. As a psychotherapist\, singer\, storyteller\, and grief-tender\, Sarah brings her open heart and emotional expertise to every circle she leads\, knowing that singing is a therapeutic experience like no other. Her music honors the beautiful multidimensionality of the human experience and invites her listeners to feel right along with her. Sarah draws inspiration from both her inner and outer landscapes\, spinning lyrical metaphors that point to the parallels between the cycles of nature and life. \nSaritah is a Seoul-born\, Perth-raised singer-songwriter and Holistic Voice Therapist. Saritah is steadfast on her journey to uplift\, inspire\, and activate healing via the power of songs and voice. Having toured extensively around the globe and graced the stages of some of the world’s most loved musical gatherings\, Saritah has released 4 full-length albums (her most recent album GIFTS was released in October 2024). Equally passionate about supporting others to awaken their voices and experience the profound healing and empowerment available via the voice\, she regularly offers vocal toning workshops\, VoiceBaths\, empowering vocal immersions for women as well as retreats and 1:1 voice mentorship. \nSheniqua Trotman is a passionate song facilitator\, social justice activist\, and vocal empowerment coach based in Brooklyn\, New York. With over a decade of experience\, she specializes in creating inclusive and transformative spaces where individuals can heal\, connect\, and find empowerment through the power of communal singing. \nTe Martin (they/them) has been shaped by the Pacific Ocean\, ancient redwoods\, circus arts\, and theater games. Their music-making takes many forms: they study the Irish bodhrán drum\, co-organized Thrive Street Choir for six years\, and founded Murmuration Community Choir in Sebastopol\, CA. Te is currently living in Taos\, NM\, where they can be found on the ski slopes when they’re not leading song. \nTembre de Carteret is a Community Song leader\, Song carrier & songwriter who has been leading communities in song in Europe for over 24 years in-person & online. She leads in a relaxed\, inclusive\, and creative way bringing songs full of connection\, sovereignty\, and harmony. Tembre has curated and collaborated with many song leaders all over the world with her online events We May Sing over the past 5 years. \nValentina Levchenko is a singer\, improviser\, composer\, and community leader from Kyiv\, Ukraine\, who blends Ukrainian folk traditions with global influences. A former business professional\, she transitioned into music under the mentorship of Rhiannon and Bobby McFerrin\, honing her skills in the U.S.\, Canada\, and Brazil. She founded the Kyiv Community Choir\, organizes music camps in unique Ukrainian\, Georgian\, and Bulgarian locations\, and released the album Berehy\, which was named one of Ukraine’s top 10 indie albums of the year. \nVal Byrne is deeply committed to tapping into the healing vibration of Song. She has been singing with Heather Houston and Yala Lati for almost 20 years. Val is a licensed psychotherapist who brings her expertise in emotional consciousness and mindfulness to the experience of being in a circle as a therapeutic experience. \nZoey Hana Wren is a singer\, recording artist and composer writing healing chant\, indie pop and devotional vocal music. Zoey has released 3 CDs and performs for conferences\, retreats\, festivals\, showcases\, house concerts\, and special events. She also teaches sound healing and leads song circles online and around the world.
