Welcome to my website. I am so happy that our singing paths have crossed.

I am Tembre de Carteret, a community song leader, songwriter and carrier of community songs. For more than twenty five years I have been creating welcoming spaces where people of all ages, voices and abilities can experience the joy, connection and wellbeing that singing together brings.

Whether we gather under a roof, beneath an open sky or online from different corners of the world, my intention is always the same: to create a safe, inclusive and uplifting space where everyone feels they belong and every voice matters, no matter ones singing experience , sound or abilitie.

After living, leading and raising my family in County Clare Ireland, I now live between Ireland and the beautiful Castelo Branco region of Central Portugal. From here I continue to lead singing events throughout Portugal, Ireland and the UK, as well as nurturing vibrant online singing communities that welcome people from around the world.

I am passionate about sharing songs that uplift, soothe and inspire. Many are my own compositions, alongside beautiful community songs that I have gathered over the past 25 years, that celebrate nature, belonging, love and our shared connections. Every song is taught by ear using a simple call-and-response approach, making my sessions accessible to everyone—no previous singing experience is needed.

Alongside my in-person events, I continue to host Gathering Hearts, my weekly online singing community, and We May Sing, a unique international collaboration with guest song leaders from around the world. These online gatherings offer a beautiful way to connect through song, wherever you are , everyone is welcome

Throughout the coming months I’ll be leading community singing circles, creative workshops and special weekend events across Portugal, Ireland and the UK. I would love to welcome you to one of them. In October I am co-facilitating a Harmony Singing weekend near Belfast with Una McCann
